|Year 6 at Harry Gosling school worked with artist Hanelle Levine and Teacher Cheryl Butler to develop ideas from the Poplar Futures website. We looked at the proposals on the website and chose several to respond to using the forum. We considered a range of ideas we would like to see enacted in our local environment. We went to Ropeward gardens, a green space close by to the school and discussed how this could be transformed to be more colourful, interesting and accessible to a wider range of people. We looked at the eight sided star shape and its appearance in decorative artforms in a range of world cultures. We worked in groups to design our own ideal park spaces.
